Agartala, 1st January 2026 : A sudden disappearance has shattered the peace of a family in Manubazar, plunging a young wife and her seven-year-old son into uncertainty. The incident has sparked concern across the locality.
According to police records, 25-year-old Jhuma Namo filed a general diary at Manubazar police station seeking help to trace her husband, Prasenjit Sarkar, a fish trader from Sukanta Palli.
Jhuma stated that she married Sarkar eight years ago in a traditional ceremony. Their marital life, she said, had no major disputes. Sarkar frequently traveled to Agartala for his fish business. On December 27, 2025, around noon, he left home saying he was heading to Agartala. Since then, his mobile phone has remained switched off, and all attempts to contact him have failed.
With no other option, Jhuma lodged a missing complaint. Later, allegations surfaced that Sarkar may have fled after becoming involved in a romantic relationship with a woman from the neighborhood. The revelation has left Jhuma devastated.
The couple’s young son now faces an uncertain future. Struggling to survive, Jhuma works as a domestic help to support her household. In tears, she appealed to the police administration to trace her husband and bring him back to the family.
The incident has stirred emotions in Manubazar, raising troubling questions about how a husband could abandon his wife and child. Jhuma’s anguished cries have become a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by vulnerable families.
