Agartala, 1st January 2026 : A one-day free general surgery camp was organized at the premises of Swasti Health Care to mark the birthday of Social Education and Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, as well as the foundation day of the healthcare institution. The camp was formally inaugurated by Minister Tinku Roy.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the minister. Medical professionals including Dr. Tomojit Nath and Dr. Sumit Das, along with elected municipal councillor Sikkim Sinha, were present at the occasion.
In his inaugural address, Minister Roy highlighted the selfless service of doctors and nurses. He remarked, “After God, people see doctors as divine figures. Unlike other professions with fixed working hours, the medical profession has no boundaries. Even if a patient falls ill at midnight, doctors must rush to the hospital to provide care.” He further emphasized that while financial earnings are part of every profession, healthcare workers primarily serve with a spirit of dedication and compassion.
The minister extended his best wishes for the continued growth of Swasti Health Care and expressed gratitude to the organizers for arranging such a camp that directly benefits the common people. Hospital sources confirmed that a large number of patients received treatment and were benefited from the free surgical services provided during the camp.
