Court rejects bail plea of five accused in courier delivery boy death case

Agartala, 9th January 2026:  The court has rejected the bail applications of five accused in connection with the death of Prasanjit Sarkar, a delivery boy of Blue Dart Courier, in Dharmanagar. Based on the report submitted by the investigating officer, the court has directed the addition of charges related to abetment to suicide in the case.

At the same time, the court ordered that all five accused be remanded to judicial custody until January 22. The next hearing in the case is scheduled to be held on that day.

It may be recalled that during the investigation into the unnatural death of Prasanjit Sarkar, several crucial facts came to light. In view of these developments, the investigating agency sought modification of the charges in the case. The court accepted the plea and issued the necessary directions accordingly.
