Agartala, 9th January 2026: A district-level cooking competition for school meal mothers was organized in Dhalai district under the initiative of the District Education Officer. The event took place today at Kulai Colony High School in Ambassa.
The competition was inaugurated by Ambassa Municipal Council Chairperson Pratima Malakar, who watered a sapling to mark the occasion. Among the dignitaries present were Dhalai District Education Officer Madhusudan Debbarma, council members Uttam Adhikari and Suman Debnath, along with Kulai Colony High School teacher Ratan Saha and others.
A total of 17 schools from across Dhalai district participated in the contest, represented by their meal mothers. After evaluation by the judges, Chandramohan Para English Medium School secured the first position, Halhuali Higher Secondary School came second, and Maynama JB School took third place. The top three winners will now represent the district at the upcoming state-level cooking competition.
Certificates and prizes were distributed to all participants, including the winners, by the invited guests. Speaking on the occasion, District Education Officer Madhusudan Debbarma highlighted that the competition had progressed from block and subdivision levels to the district stage. He expressed confidence that the selected participants would uphold the quality of their cooking and bring laurels to Dhalai district in the state-level contest.
