Agartala, February 12, 2023: Former Rajya Sabha MP and AITC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh on Sunday trained guns at the Election Commission of India for helping the BJP and its hooligans against the Trinamool Congress in Tripura.

Addressing a press conference here at TMC state headquarters on Sunday afternoon, Ghosh said “As the campaigning period is nearing to an end, the BJP is utilizing the ECI for expanding their reign of terror upon Trinamool Congress workers and their offices in different parts of the state. On behalf of TMC, we are requesting the ECI to initiate proper action against those law violators in Tripura.”

Terming BJP, CPIM and Congress are brothers for creating division of votes in order help the saffron party in Tripura as they are openly in friendship in West Bengal, AITC spokesperson said “These three political parties are contesting the election for their own political interest. There is a shadow alliance of BJP, CPIM and Congress in West Bengal to knock out TMC, but Mamata Banerjee-led party has its votes intact.”

He also claimed that two Chief Ministers were changed in Tripura and they are Biplab Deb and Manik Sarkar. “They were changed as they have never worked for the betterment of the people and welfare of the state. Sarkar felt that this time the ship of CPIM and Congress will be sinking in the ensuing assembly election. He is also confident that this alliance will not win the election. Hence, he was reluctant to contest the election.”

Ghosh has also labelled allegation against Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at centre for stealing schemes adopted by Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and started introducing in Gujarat.

Speaking to media personnel, MP Sushmita Dev said “Since February 02, we have been campaigning across the state, but our offices were vandalized and workers were attacked at Chandipur, Banamalipur, Teliamura, Sonamura, etc. Earlier, we have demanded the ECI officials to conduct free and fair election. Today is February 12, and vote is on February 16. It is our request to ECI that the ruling party is interfering in democratic process of campaigning by TMC throughout the state. This is unacceptable. ECI should significantly focus on this issue immediately.”
