Agartala, 10th January 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that it is possible to build Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura through the unity of people from all sections of jaati, janajati, and communities.
“Injustice and hooliganism will not be tolerated under any circumstances. And without the Bharatiya Janata Party, the development of the janajatis is not possible. For a long time, there has been politics of division in the janajati areas. Now they understand that,” he said.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said this at a public meeting organized by the Kanchanpur Mandal of the Bharatiya Janata Party at Kanchanpur in North District today. At the public meeting, Dr. Saha welcomed 759 voters from 238 families who joined the BJP.
Before the meeting, the Chief Minister participated in a roadshow.Later, while addressing a huge gathering, Dr. Saha said that the future of Tripura can be understood from the people of Kanchanpur today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is showing the path, and people have placed their trust in him. A glimpse of this trust was seen at today’s public meeting.
“He is constantly working for the welfare of the people. Now the people of the state, including jaati, janajati, minority groups, understand that no one can be trusted except the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Prime Minister is talking about New India. After Operation Sindoor, New India has been created. We are also talking about New Tripura. Along with this, we will create new TTAADCs, new municipalities, and new three-tier panchayats,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha said that despite being a small state, efforts are being made to create a model Tripura in the true sense with the blessings of the Prime Minister, where there will be peace, harmony, and coexistence.
“We want to establish peace in every corner of the state. The Prime Minister has repeatedly talked about Viksit Bharat 2047, and this is not just talk. If the country develops financially, the state will also develop. Conversely, if the state develops, the country will develop. Tripura is ranked second highest among the states of the North Eastern region in terms of GSDP and per capita income. NITI Aayog has declared Tripura a front-runner state,” he said.
Dr. Saha said that if everyone remains united, there will be no compromise on development.
“Our Prime Minister is gradually strengthening the country. Today, India is moving towards progress. Our GDP is increasing compared to other countries. If we are united, we can strengthen the state. Our Prime Minister has changed the definition of politics, and we also want to change this definition in Tripura. We have seen one party beating another party, murder, terrorism, rape, and arson. We will not spare anyone. Even if our own people do something wrong, we will not spare them. This is not just words; it is being done through deeds. Injustice means injustice, and hooliganism means hooliganism. These will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will be punished according to the law. I have repeatedly said that if force has to be used to maintain peace, it will be done. Investors will come to the state only if there is peace,” he said.
Dr. Saha said that he has instructed the Janajatis Welfare Minister to do whatever is possible for the welfare of the janajatis.
“If you only stay in touch with people without encouraging them, there will be no benefit. Work is important. Nothing will be achieved by threatening anyone, and it is not acceptable to misuse a position of authority,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Janajatis Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Youth and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, MLA Jadav Lal Nath, BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, former MP Rebati Tripura, North District President Aparna Nath, BJP District President Kajal Das, Mandal President Birendra Kar, and other senior leaders.
