Agartala, 14th January 2026: A Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan sustained severe injuries in a freak accident while on leave at his hometown. The injured jawan identified as Jasim Uddin is currently undergoing treatment at Hapania Hospital, where doctors have described his condition as critical.
Sources informed that, Jasim had returned home last night on vacation. This morning, he accompanied his mother to work in a rubber plantation. During the work, a dry branch suddenly broke and fell on his head and neck, leaving him seriously injured.
Family members and locals rushed him to Bishramganj Hospital immediately after the incident. Following initial treatment, his condition deteriorated, prompting doctors to refer him to Tripura Medical College and Dr BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital at Hapania for advanced medical care.
Hospital authorities confirmed that Jasim remains in a critical state under close observation.
