Milan Mela to begin on February 4 at Fatikroy: Sudhangshu

Agartala, 16th January 2026:    The much-awaited Milan Mela, a festival celebrated as a symbol of cultural pride and community spirit, will commence on February 4, 2026, at the grounds of the Higher Secondary School in Fatikroy.

The announcement was made today by ARD, Fisheries and SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, who expressed confidence that this year’s edition will continue the fair’s legacy of bringing people together in celebration.

Extensive preparations are already in progress to ensure smooth organization of the event. A preparatory meeting was held at the Fatikroy Panchayat Office today, attended by officials from all line departments and leaders of the Fatikroy assembly constituency.

Minister Das highlighted that coordinated efforts between administrative authorities and local leadership will be key to managing infrastructure, safety, cultural programming, and public facilities. He assured that the arrangements are being designed to uphold the festival’s reputation as a vibrant gathering that strengthens social bonds and showcases the rich traditions of the region.

The announcement has generated widespread excitement among residents, who regard Milan Mela as an annual highlight of community life. With preparations in full swing, Fatikroy is set to welcome visitors and participants to what promises to be a memorable celebration.
