Agartala, 18th January 2026:  Tipra Motha Party MLA Ranjit Debbarma today said that he met Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and raised several important issues, including a set of questions related to tribal welfare that were earlier submitted in the Assembly but repeatedly disallowed.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Debbarma said he informed the Governor that whenever he submits questions in the Assembly House concerning tribal rights, development, and governance issues, they are not permitted for discussion. According to the MLA, this has prevented meaningful debate on crucial issues affecting the indigenous population of the state.

Debbarma stated that the Governor inquired into the matter in detail and carefully examined the questions submitted in Hindi format. He said the Governor assured him that the matter would be forwarded to the Assembly authorities for necessary consideration. The Tipra Motha MLA expressed hope that if the questions are accepted, there would be a scope for discussion on these important matters during the upcoming Assembly session, especially with elections approaching.

The MLA also drew the Governor’s attention to the issue of several bills passed by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) that are still pending and have not been accepted by the state government. He said the delay in accepting these bills has hampered development and administrative functioning in the tribal areas.

Debbarma further said that he raised a specific question before the Governor on whether such bills and Assembly questions would be forwarded to the Governor in the future, terming it a matter of serious constitutional and political importance.

In addition to tribal-related issues, the Tipra Motha leader said he also highlighted several serious matters concerning the overall situation of the state. He added that Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu listened patiently to all his concerns and assured him that the issues raised would be examined appropriately.
