Agartala, 18th January 2026 : Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman delivered a passionate and assertive speech ahead of the upcoming TTAADC elections, targeting the state government and emphasizing the rights and welfare of the Tiprasa community.
Addressing a gathering at Takarjala, Pradyot adopted a firm stance against Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and his party, asserting that no amount of effort or money would weaken the resolve of Tiprasas. “In 2026, the Maharaja will give the due respect to tribal people. Our language, politics, religion, and land will never be compromised,” he stated.
Pradyot emphasized the distinction between political ambitions and the welfare of the community. “You fight to win a party, but we fight to win the nation. No matter how much abuse we face, we Tiprasa will remain steadfast,” he said, urging leaders to focus on issues like education, land rights, and the Roman script for the Janajati, rather than divisive narratives around religion.
Highlighting his dedication to tribal advocacy, Pradyot contrasted his approach with other leaders. “The difference between the Maharaja and others is that I go to Delhi to speak about the tribals of Tripura. Others come from Delhi to Agartala to talk about us in Delhi. This will not work here. Our words must reach Delhi so they understand the pain and aspirations of Tiprasa,” he said.
Pradyot also acknowledged the contributions of previous tribal leaders, particularly Bijay Kumar Hrangkhawl, while noting the need for broader representation of tribal voices across the state.
In a significant move, Pradyot laid the foundation stone for a 500-seat community hall for the Rangkhal Annual Conference in Takarjala. The ceremony was attended by TTAADC Chief Executive Member Purna Chandra Jamatia, Tipra Motha leader Bijay Kumar Hrangkhawl, Rajeshwar Debbarma, and other dignitaries.
Through his speech and initiatives, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman reaffirmed his commitment to preserving Tiprasa identity, heritage, and rights, sending a clear message of unity and resilience to the tribal community ahead of the elections.
