Six Tripura Police Personnel to Receive President’s and Meritorious Service Medals on Republic Day 2026

Agartala, 25th January 2026:   Six members of the Tripura Police have been selected for prestigious national police awards in recognition of their outstanding service, to be presented on Republic Day, 2026.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar, Deba Prasad Roy, will receive the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) for his exceptional dedication and professionalism.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, a total of 982 personnel from police, fire services, home guards & civil defence, and correctional services nationwide have been honoured with Gallantry and Service Medals this year.

From Tripura, Havildar Shib Charan Debbarma has been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) in recognition of his exemplary and distinguished record of service.

The Medal for Meritorious Service has been conferred on Deputy Superintendent of Police Deba Prasad Roy, Subedar Pradip Chandra Das, Havildar Bipul Deb, Constable Jiban Debnath, Inspector Amal Datta, and Inspector Dhrubajyoti Halder, highlighting their commitment, devotion, and professional excellence.

The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service honours personnel with a record of exceptional service, while the Medal for Meritorious Service recognises valuable contributions marked by resourcefulness, dedication, and outstanding performance in duty.
