Agartala, 9th February 2026 : As preparations intensify for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Tripura on February 20. Sources within the state BJP have indicated that the proposed visit carries significant political importance ahead of the council polls.
Senior leaders of the Tripura BJP have revealed that Amit Shah is expected to be in the state for a one-day visit. While the official itinerary has not yet been released, party sources confirmed that the Home Minister’s arrival is scheduled for February 20.
During his visit, Shah is expected to take part in a government programme showcasing key developmental initiatives undertaken by the Centre in Tripura. He is also likely to hold a crucial meeting with the BJP’s state leadership, where discussions may focus on organizational matters and electoral strategy for the upcoming TTAADC polls.
The visit is being seen as a major morale booster for the party, particularly as it looks to strengthen its presence in tribal regions. BJP leaders believe that the Home Minister’s presence will energize party workers and give fresh momentum to the campaign ahead of the crucial election.
