The camp was conducted with the support of the All Tripura Government Doctors Association, the Office of the Chief Health Officer of Sipahijala district, and Takarjala Social Health Center.
The initiative aimed to extend specialized medical services to residents of remote villages who often face challenges in accessing advanced healthcare facilities available at the state’s premier hospitals. More than a hundred patients received medical consultation and treatment during the camp.
A total of 11 specialist doctors from AGMC and GBP Hospital delivered comprehensive healthcare services across multiple disciplines. The team included Dr. Kanak Chowdhury and Dr. Mahendra Debbarma (General Medicine), Dr. Diptendu Chowdhury (General Surgery), Dr. Chayan Chakma (Pediatrics), Dr. Debashis Saha (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Dr. Anindya Debnath (Orthopedics), Dr. Rakesh Das (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), Dr. Satyakam Chakraborty (ENT), Dr. Paruldeep Chakma (Ophthalmology), Dr. Kamal Das (Dermatology), and Dr. Avik Dev (Emergency Medicine Department).
The camp was also attended by Dr. Debashis Das, Chief Medical Officer of Sepahijala district, Dr. Deep Debbarma, Family Welfare Officer of the district, and Dr. Bimal Kalai, In-charge Physician of Takarjala CHC, who supervised the arrangements and coordinated local health services.
Officials stated that the objective of organizing such mega health camps is to decentralize specialist healthcare and ensure that rural populations can avail services comparable to those provided at AGMC and GBP Hospital. Similar outreach programs have been conducted in various parts of the state in the past, benefiting a large number of people and strengthening the public health delivery system at the grassroots level.
