Agartala, 15th February 2026: Tripura Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers from Bholamura under Sonamura Police Station in Sepahijala district.
The accused have been identified as, Hachina Khatun (33), resident of Bholamura, Ward No. 05, PS–Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura, Akter Hossain (40), resident of Bholamura, Ward No. 05, PS–Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura.
According to police sources, a total of Rs 37,195 in Indian cash was recovered and seized from their possession during the operation.
Police officials stated that the arrests were made in connection with a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Sonamura Police Station. Further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in the drug network and identify other links in the case.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing strict action against drug-related activities in the region.
