Two held in mobile snatching case, cash missing

Agartala, 16th February 2026:  East Agartala Police Station staff have arrested two youths accused of snatching mobile phones and cash. Officers recovered two mobile phones and seized a motorcycle during the operation.

OC Subrata Debnath said a complaint had been filed alleging that the accused lured a youth under the pretext of selling mobiles, then fled with Rs 7,000 in cash and two phones.

Acting on the complaint, police launched a raid and managed to recover the stolen phones, though the cash could not be traced. During interrogation, the accused admitted they had already spent the money.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sukhen Debnath and Sahib Mia. Police confirmed that both were produced before court today.
