Agartala, 17th February 2026: Tension briefly gripped the Badharghat area of the capital on Tuesday after a suspicious vehicle was detained near a local petrol pump, prompting widespread curiosity among residents.
According to locals, the vehicle had been moving around the area in a manner that drew attention. Sensing something unusual, several residents approached the vehicle and prevented it from leaving. They later alerted the authorities about the situation.
Officers from the nearby Edingor Police Station arrived at the scene shortly afterward and took control of the vehicle. The car was then transported to the police station for further examination.
While eyewitnesses claim the occupants’ behavior appeared questionable, law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed whether any illegal items were recovered or what specifically led to the vehicle’s detention. Authorities stated that the matter is currently under investigation and that detailed information will be shared once preliminary inquiries are completed.
The unexpected incident caused a temporary stir in the vicinity of the petrol pump, but normalcy was restored following police intervention.
