Agartala, 3rd March 2026:   In a brazen act under the cover of darkness, a gang of thieves struck four shops in Lembuchhara Market, Mohanpur subdivision, raising fresh concerns about local security. The culprits made off with cash and valuable goods.

According to reports, the incident occurred last night when the gang, allegedly linked to Nishikutumb, targeted multiple shops, including Pintu Bhattacharya’s clothing store, Rekha Banerjee and Gopal Bandyopadhyay’s grocery outlets, and a government ration shop. Shopkeepers discovered the thefts this morning upon opening their stores.

The local police at the Lembuchhara outpost were immediately informed, and an investigation has begun. Preliminary estimates suggest that goods worth several lakh takas were stolen.
