Corruption Has Become BJP’s Policy in Tripura, Alleges LoP

Agartala, 7th March 2026:   The Leader of Opposition, Jitendra Chaudhury, today alleged that corruption has become the policy of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura and that loot raj is rampant and their goal everywhere.

The LoP said this while addressing the 10th state conference of the Tripura Scheduled Caste Coordination Committee, which began at Agartala Town Hall on Saturday.

He said in his speech that the current ruling political party of the country has created a complex political situation in the state. These were not inevitable. They are trying to protect the interests of the capitalists.

“As a result, people from the backward and Dalit sections are facing multifaceted crises in various ways,” he said.

Today, the opposition leader took a swipe at the government and ministers over corruption.

He said that Bikas Debbarma, as the Minister of the Tribal Welfare Department, has become the owner of crores of rupees in two and a half years, but the tribal people are not witnessing real development.

He also said that the biggest task for the people of Tripura now is to rescue democracy.

At the same time, he claimed that the language in which Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman are speaking against each other seems like a war from the Ramayan has begun.

“But Tipra Motha is claiming that there is no dispute in the cabinet, Delhi is good, former Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb is good, and present Chief Minister Manik Saha is not good. But even then, the Chief Minister is not calling Tipra Motha and saying that we will not be able to live with you anymore. You should get out of the government. But the reason for saying no is that the Chief Minister and Tipra Motha need the party supremo in the state to stop the CPI(M),” he said.

He also sarcastically said that if Tipra Motha loses the ADC in the future, it will affect the bargaining process of their party with the BJP.

“Therefore, Tipra Motha is trying with all its might to regain the ADC, including emotions, communal tickling, and sentiments. On the other hand, the BJP is trying to seize the ADC at any cost by using its administrative power so that Tipra Motha cannot be blamed in the future. That is why the trouble between these two parties has started. And for the Left, the upcoming ADC elections are an important struggle. After 2018, they will have to take an important role by taking experience from all the elections,” said the LoP.
