Empowering women is key to advancing state, nation: Sushanta

Agartala, 8th March 2026:   On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Tripura Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha organized a special program at the Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala on Sunday.

In his address, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury emphasized that empowering women is key to advancing both the state and the nation.

He extended heartfelt greetings and respect to all women on this significant day.

Minister Chowdhury highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is placing special focus on women’s empowerment.

“From education and healthcare to employment, multiple opportunities and protections have been provided across almost every sector of society. As a result, women from all walks of life are becoming stronger, more self-reliant, and are playing a crucial role in the country’s development”, he said.

The event saw discussions on women’s rights, dignity, and empowerment, and recognized women who have made remarkable contributions in various fields. Prominent attendees included Minister Santana Chakma, BJP Pradesh President Rajib Bhattacharya, other party leaders, and notable personalities from society. The program was marked by great enthusiasm and energy among the participants.
