Agartala, 9th March 2026: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday conducted a detailed review of several ongoing infrastructure projects of the state’s transport department during a high-level meeting held at the state secretariat in Agartala.
According to officials, the meeting focused on evaluating the progress of various transport-related infrastructure works across the state, including project timelines, implementation status and financial utilisation.
Key projects discussed during the review included the construction of a new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, the establishment of additional District Transport Offices (DTOs) in different districts and the development of motor stands at multiple locations to improve public transport facilities.
Senior officials from the Transport Department, Public Works Department, Rural Development Department and the Tripura Housing and Construction Board participated in the meeting. Representatives from agencies responsible for executing the projects were also present.
During the review, the minister assessed the current pace of construction and stressed that maintaining high standards of work quality should remain a priority while ensuring that projects are completed within the prescribed deadlines.
He instructed the executing agencies and concerned departments to accelerate the work wherever necessary and strictly adhere to all required administrative and procedural guidelines.
Chowdhury also directed the agencies to submit proper utilisation certificates after the completion of projects, in line with established financial and administrative regulations, officials said.
