Agartala, 9th March 2026:    In a bid to bolster political preparations ahead of the upcoming ADC elections, the District Congress Committee of Kailashahar organized a key organizational meeting today with party workers and leaders from three ADC village areas under the 53-Kailashahar Assembly constituency.

The meeting was hosted at the residence of MLA Birajit Sinha in Kailashahar.

The meeting was attended by MLA Birajit Sinha, District Congress President and Vice Chairman of Gournagar Panchayat Samiti Badruzzaman, along with Congress leaders Rudrendu Bhattacharyya, Suwarai Reang, Tilkumar Danglong, and other local party workers from the three ADC village areas.

The session primarily focused on strengthening the party’s engagement with the tribal-dominated local population and formulating election strategies.

Representatives from all seven polling stations under the three ADC villages of the 53-Kailashahar Assembly constituency, falling under the Karmachhara area, were present.

The discussions centered on enhancing organizational strength and detailed election preparedness at the local level in anticipation of the ADC elections.

After the meeting, MLA  Sinha told reporters that the meeting was convened at the initiative of District Congress President Badruzzaman to discuss various issues with representatives from all seven polling stations.

He emphasized that the ADC elections should ideally be conducted alongside the Village Council elections. He further mentioned that following a notice from the Supreme Court to the state government, the authorities should clearly announce the month or date for the elections if simultaneous polling is not feasible.

Sinha also highlighted that confusion regarding the elections had created obstacles, particularly in ADC areas where elected Village Council representatives are currently absent, stalling many developmental initiatives. He added that discussions with the tribal population in three Village Council areas under the Gournagar Panchayat Samiti have already led to the initiation of certain development works and planning for future projects.

The MLA further noted that the organizational plan aims to ensure that Congress receives record voter support in the upcoming ADC elections. Separate in-charges have been appointed for each village area, and strategies have been formulated for all seven polling stations across the three Village Council regions.
