Agartala, 18th March 2026:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the dropout rate in primary schools (from Class I to Class V) in the state is currently zero.

He informed that the Elementary Education Department has implemented various programs to maintain this zero dropout rate. Dr. Saha shared this information in the State Assembly today.

Referring to the initiatives taken to sustain the zero dropout rate, the Chief Minister said that, in addition to efforts to make the Nipun Bharat Mission a comprehensive success, the Saharsha Tripura program has been launched to promote the social, mental, and overall development of children.

“Besides these, students are being provided with learning aids and play materials. Measures such as tracking student dropouts through U-DISE, providing education through digital learning, establishing libraries in each school, offering special training for out-of-school children, providing residential hostels for students from remote areas, constructing separate toilets, offering stipends for children with special needs, organizing regular teacher-parent conferences, and supplying free school uniforms and textbooks are being implemented,” said Dr. Saha.
