Road accident at Udaipur leaves four injured, two critical

Agartala, 4th April 2026:    A serious road accident took place today around 4:45 pm at Chandrapur Siddiqui Down in Udaipur, when a sand-laden truck rammed into a Bolero vehicle. The collision left four of the five passengers injured, with two reported to be in critical condition.

According to reports, employees and workers from the Shantirbazar Electric Office were traveling in a Bolero bearing registration number TR07A-1649 to collect electronic equipment from the Banduar power house. As they reached Chandrapur Siddiqui Down, a speeding truck bearing registration number TR03C-1544 struck their vehicle from behind, causing severe damage and injuries to the occupants.

Local residents rushed to the scene to assist, followed by fire service personnel who rescued the injured and transported them to Gomati District Hospital. Hospital sources confirmed that the injured include Subal Debnath (47), Ranjit Mog (29), Haradhan Nam (41), and Dibanta Sen (48), all residents of Shantirbazar. Haradhan Nam and Dibanta Sen remain in critical condition under treatment, while Debnath and Mog underwent CT scans and may be discharged if results are satisfactory.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Residents allege that frequent movement of speeding heavy vehicles in the area poses a constant risk, and they have urged authorities to enforce stricter traffic control measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
