Agartala, 13th April 2026: A tragic incident has cast a shadow over Fatikroy in Tripura. A ninth-grade student of Fatikroy Girls’ School, identified as Sanika Akter, also known as Tania, was found dead by suicide at her home in Tarapur, Ward No. 5 under Krishnanagar Gram Panchayat.
Reportedly, the incident took place yesterday evening when family members had gone to the market. Taking advantage of being alone, the student ended her life by hanging in her room. On returning home, relatives discovered the situation and rushed her to Fatikroy Primary Hospital, where doctors declared her dead after examination.
The body was handed over to the family today following a post-mortem.
