Agartala, 22nd April 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has directed all security agencies and concerned departments to take every necessary step to restore law and order across the state and ensure peace, safety and protection for the common people.

The Chief Minister issued these instructions after chairing an important high-level meeting late last night at his official residence to review the post-poll violence situation reported from several parts of Tripura.

Recently, after the declaration of the TTAADC election results, the law and order situation has deteriorated in various parts of Tripura. It is alleged that some miscreants affiliated with the Tipra Motha Party have been involved in violent activities under the guise of party affiliation. As a result, several houses have been vandalized and many people have been injured.

In response to the situation, Dr. Saha held two separate high-level meetings late last night at his official residence.

In the first meeting, the Chief Minister interacted with senior Pradesh BJP leaders, including MLAs, Ministers and Janajati leaders.

During this discussion, Dr Saha reviewed the situation on the ground, received detailed reports from party representatives and discussed the steps being taken to assist the affected people.

He also sought suggestions from the leaders on how relief and support measures could be further strengthened to help those impacted by the violence.

Following this, Dr. Saha held another crucial meeting with senior administrative and security officials.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, Director General of Police Anurag along with senior officials from various security agencies including the BSF, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Assam Rifles.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the administration and security forces to act swiftly and decisively to restore normalcy.

He emphasized that maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens must be given top priority.

Dr Saha also instructed the authorities to take strict legal action against those responsible for the violence and to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
