7-day NSS special camp inaugurated at Kshudiram Basu English Medium School

Agartala, 7th May 2026:   A seven-day special camp under the National Service Scheme (NSS) was inaugurated today at Kshudiram Basu English Medium School, located on Jail Ashram Road in Agartala. The camp will continue from May 7 to May 13, 2026, with the central theme, “Not for oneself, but for society.”

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Rajib Bhattacharjee as the Chief Guest, while noted social worker Arindam Chowdhury was present as the Special Guest.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Bhattacharjee highlighted the vision of “Youth For My Bharat & Youth for Digital Literacy”, describing it as a noble initiative to inspire students towards social responsibility, voluntary service, and digital awareness.

“I am confident that this special initiative will motivate students to contribute to building a progressive and self-reliant India through social commitment and digital literacy,” he said.

Extending warm greetings to all student volunteers, Bhattacharjee praised their dedication, enthusiasm, and spirit of service. He emphasized that their sincerity and collective efforts would play a vital role in shaping the society of tomorrow.

The programme was presided over by the school’s Principal, Samir Ranjan Das. Addressing the gathering, NSS Programme Officer Punam Roy Sarkar informed that students participating in the camp would engage in various social welfare activities, including cleanliness drives, tree plantation programmes, health awareness campaigns, and other community service initiatives.

School authorities stated that such programmes play an important role in nurturing social responsibility, humanitarian values, discipline, and leadership qualities among students. They also emphasized that the camp aims to encourage young minds to actively contribute towards the betterment of society through voluntary service and collective action.
