Tripura Gramin Bank bags national recognition for outstanding APY performance

Agartala, 20th  May 2026: Bringing laurels to the state once again, Tripura Gramin Bank has secured the second position among 28 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across the country for its exceptional performance under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

The recognition was conferred at the APY Annual Felicitation Programme 2026 organised by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority at ITC Maurya, New Delhi, on May 20.

The award was received by the bank’s Chairman, Satyendra Singh, in the presence of senior officials from the Government of India, including M. Nagaraju, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance, and Sanjay Lohia, Special Secretary, DFS, along with eminent personalities from the banking and financial sectors.

Tripura Gramin Bank has shown remarkable consistency in implementing the Atal Pension Yojana over the years. The bank recorded 203 per cent achievement in FY 2022-23, 197 per cent in FY 2023-24, an impressive 351 per cent in FY 2024-25, and 185 per cent in FY 2025-26.

In the financial year 2025-26 alone, the bank enrolled 27,787 active subscribers against the assigned target of 15,000, significantly surpassing expectations and strengthening social security coverage in rural areas of Tripura.

Bank officials stated that the achievement reflects the relentless efforts, dedication, and teamwork of employees and branch officials across the state. The recognition also underlines the bank’s continued commitment towards financial inclusion and ensuring pension benefits for rural citizens.

The accomplishment has been celebrated as a proud moment for the banking sector of Tripura and a testament to the growing success of social security initiatives in the state.
