Agartala, 31ST May 2026: An unidentified man was killed after being struck by a train traveling from Sabroom to Agartala on Sunday morning in the Gobindapara area under the South Sonaichhari Gram Panchayat of Belonia subdivision.
According to local sources, the train departed from Sabroom for Agartala at around 8:00 a.m. when the accident occurred. The victim was reportedly run over by the train under circumstances that are still unclear.
Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from Belonia Police Station and representatives of the railway authorities rushed to the spot. The body was later recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Authorities have also been unable to determine the victim’s exact age or how he came to be on the railway tracks.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased and ascertain the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the death.
