Agartala, 8th June 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the state government is committed to working with transparency for the welfare of the people and ensuring that government benefits reach those in need.
He said this during the 67th episode of the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme, held at his official residence, where he met citizens from different parts of the state and personally reviewed their grievances. The programme focused mainly on requests related to medical assistance, housing, and other social welfare concerns.
Several individuals and families approached the Chief Minister seeking urgent support for serious health conditions.
Among them, Abhijit Deb from Jambura in Khowai sought assistance for a liver-related illness. Sumiel and Jumli Rankhal from Teliamura requested help for the treatment of their child’s complex disease. Ratna Biswas from Sipahijala district appealed for medical support for her husband’s brain condition.
Others who met the Chief Minister included Priyanka Shukladas from Madhuban, seeking kidney treatment for a family member; Shantanu Sinha from Agartala regarding treatment for his son; and Shyamal Chakraborty, Dilip Kumar Sarkar, Usha Rishi Das, and Sanjit Deb, all of whom sought financial and medical assistance for critical health issues affecting their families.
After listening to their problems, Dr Saha assured prompt support in each case and instructed concerned departments to take immediate action to ensure proper treatment and assistance.
One applicant, Kallol Brahmachari from Unakoti district, also raised land-related issues, for which the Chief Minister directed necessary intervention.
The programme was attended by senior officials including Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, Chief Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty, and Special Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das, along with medical superintendents from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Hospital, GBP Hospital, IGM Hospital, and other departments.
