Road in  R.K. Nagar into Disrepair Due to Unregulated Soil-Laden Trucks

Date:

Agartala, 11th June 2026:   The vital road connecting Briddhinagar, Kalinagar, and R.K. Nagar has deteriorated significantly, allegedly due to the unchecked movement of soil-laden trucks, causing growing concern among local residents.

According to locals, trucks carrying excessive loads of soil frequently travel along the route at high speeds, resulting in severe damage to the road surface. Large potholes and cracks have developed at several points, making the road increasingly unsafe for commuters.

Residents claim that despite the road remaining in a damaged condition for a long time, no meaningful repair or maintenance work has been undertaken by the authorities. The situation becomes particularly alarming during the monsoon season, when rainfall fills the potholes with water and turns sections of the road into muddy stretches.

As a result, daily commuters, including school and college students, patients, and vehicle drivers, are facing considerable hardship. Locals fear that the poor condition of the road could lead to serious accidents at any time.

Speaking to the media, residents demanded immediate repair and renovation of the road. They also called for stricter regulation of soil-carrying trucks, including enforcement of speed limits, prevention of overloading, and enhanced monitoring by the administration.

Local residents warned that if prompt action is not taken to address the issue, they may be compelled to launch a larger public movement in the coming days. Attention is now focused on how quickly the authorities respond to alleviate the growing public inconvenience and ensure road safety.
