Agartala, 15th June 2026: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 31-year-old housewife in the Gamaibari area under Teliamura Police Station on Monday morning, casting a pall of gloom over the locality.
According to reports, Saraswati Choudhury was taking a bath at her residence when a hanging electric wire accidentally came into contact with her back, causing a severe electric shock. She collapsed instantly after being electrocuted.
Family members rushed her to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The sudden and untimely death has left her family, relatives, and local residents devastated. Many described the incident as heartbreaking and expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
Saraswati Choudhury is survived by her seven-year-old daughter. Her tragic death has plunged the family into profound grief, with the young child facing the loss of her mother at an early age.
Following the incident, concerns have been raised regarding electrical safety measures in the area. Local residents have called for regular inspection and maintenance of electrical wires and connections in residential neighborhoods.
