Agartala, 18th August 2026 : Strengthening financial services in rural and tribal areas of Tripura was at the centre of discussions when a senior delegation of Tripura Gramin Bank met Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya DebBarma and senior representatives of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
The bank delegation was led by Sujit Roy, Senior Regional Manager, RO West. He was accompanied by Jeet Bhattacharya, Senior Manager, Marketing Division, Head Office; David Debbarma, Manager of Khumulwng Branch; and Subhradeep Bhowmik, Marketing Officer, West District.
During the meeting, the delegation held detailed discussions with Pradyot Bikram Manikya DebBarma and his team, including TTAADC CEM Runeil Debbarma, Chairman Babaranjan Reang and MDCs James Debbarma and Utpal Debbarma.
The interaction focused on ways to improve banking access across rural Tripura and TTAADC areas. Financial inclusion, expansion of banking outreach, financial literacy, easier access to credit and sustainable development of local communities emerged as key areas of discussion.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of extending formal banking facilities to people living in remote and underserved areas, enabling rural and tribal communities to make greater use of financial services and credit opportunities.
Tripura Gramin Bank reiterated its commitment to strengthening last-mile banking services and supporting the economic empowerment of rural and tribal populations. The bank said such initiatives would contribute towards more inclusive growth and development across the state.
Under the leadership of Chairman Satyendra Singh, Tripura Gramin Bank said it would continue to work towards taking banking services closer to the people and creating greater financial opportunities for communities across Tripura.
The meeting was described as productive and forward-looking, with both sides placing emphasis on coordinated efforts for the development of rural Tripura and the TTAADC region.
