CRPs urged to strengthen women’s self-help groups:Transport Minister

Agartala, 20th  August 2026 :   Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury held an interactive meeting with Community Resource Persons (CRPs) of Self-Help Groups under Ranirbazar Municipal Council and Jirania Nagar Panchayat. The meeting focused on the activities, challenges, prospects and future action plans of the groups.

Speaking at the meeting, Chowdhury urged the CRPs to work with greater dedication and responsibility to strengthen Self-Help Groups. He said the active role of CRPs is crucial in empowering urban women and helping them achieve financial self-reliance.

“Our goal is to empower urban women to become financially self-reliant through the active role of the CRPs and to establish Self-Help Groups as a strong social and economic foundation,” the Minister said. He also stressed the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the groups.
