Agartala, 11th September 2026 : The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and Tripura Youth Federation of India (TYFI) on Friday submitted a deputation to the District Magistrate of West Tripura, addressed to the Chief Minister, pressing for the resolution of several issues concerning students, youths and job seekers.
The organisations highlighted difficulties surrounding the Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC), which they said have created problems for a section of students and unemployed youths seeking educational and employment opportunities. They demanded that the government take immediate and effective steps to resolve the issues related to the certificate.
Another major demand was the filling up of long-vacant posts in various government departments. The youth organisations claimed that a large number of vacancies have remained unfilled for an extended period, limiting employment opportunities for unemployed youths in the state.
The deputation also called for proper investigations into cases of unnatural deaths. The organisations urged the authorities to ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated and that necessary legal action is taken based on the findings.
Leaders of DYFI and TYFI said the problems confronting the state’s student and youth communities are becoming increasingly serious and require greater attention from the government. They stressed the need for transparent recruitment processes, expansion of employment opportunities and timely resolution of issues affecting young people.
The organisations further warned that failure to address their demands could lead to a larger movement in the future. They urged the authorities to initiate prompt action on the issues raised in the deputation and conveyed to the Chief Minister through the District Magistrate.
