Jamiat seeks justice in Jalil Rahman death case

Agartala, 11th September 2026 : The Tripura State Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the death of Jalil Rahman, a resident of Ghilatali Bazar, and called for the immediate arrest of those allegedly involved in the incident.

A seven-member delegation of the organisation visited Jalil Rahman’s residence and met his bereaved family to gather details about the circumstances surrounding his death. The delegation held a detailed discussion with his father and other family members and sought a comprehensive account of the incident and the events leading up to it.

Following the meeting, the delegation submitted a deputation to the Officer-in-Charge of Kalyanpur Police Station. The Jamiat urged the police to conduct a meticulous and unbiased investigation, identify those responsible and take swift legal action against them.

The delegation was led by Mufti Tayibur Rahman, President of the Tripura State Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, and included a prominent social worker and other members of the organisation.

Jalil Rahman’s death has raised questions and triggered discussions among residents of the area. The deceased’s family and local people are now awaiting the outcome of the police investigation and further action in the case.
