Modern Ward office no. 34 to come up opposite Battala

Date:

Agartala, 14th September 2026 : The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated construction of a modern Ward Office for Ward No. 34, with a Bhumi Puja (ground-breaking ceremony) held on Monday on the Corporation’s own land opposite the Battala cremation ground.

AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, Ward No. 34 Councillor Jahnabi Das Chowdhury, Councillor Nitu Guha Dey and other officials and representatives attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Majumder said the Corporation has undertaken a programme to reconstruct ward offices that either do not have their own premises or are currently housed in dilapidated structures. The proposed Ward No. 34 office is part of this initiative.

He said 15 ward offices have already been constructed across Agartala. The new facilities are being designed with modern infrastructure and adequate amenities to ensure more efficient delivery of civic services.

According to the Mayor, the upgraded ward offices will also make it more convenient for residents to access various municipal services without having to travel far.
