Agartala, 15th September 2026 :The Tripura State Commission for Women, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, organised an awareness-cum-training programme on ‘Yashodha AI’ in Agartala to familiarise women with Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications.
The programme was held at a private hotel in the city and was attended by Tripura State Commission for Women Chairperson Jharna Debbarma and other officials and representatives of the Commission.
Women and female students from different educational institutions and organisations participated in the programme. Students from Babina School and Tripura University, along with women from various blocks, including members associated with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), attended the training.
The participants were introduced to the use of AI in areas such as education, employment, administrative work and everyday activities. The programme also focused on improving women’s technological skills so they can adapt to the rapid changes taking place in the digital and technological landscape.
Besides highlighting the opportunities offered by AI, the session also stressed the importance of safe and responsible use of technology and building awareness about potential risks.
The organisers said that improving women’s knowledge of emerging technologies would help expand their opportunities in education and employment while contributing to greater self-reliance and digital empowerment. The programme witnessed considerable interest among the participating students and women.
