Date:

Agartala, 19th September 2026 :  A 15-year-old boy was rescued from Udaipur railway station after he was found wandering on the station premises, reportedly two days after leaving his home without informing his family.

The boy was spotted at the railway station on Thursday, following which the matter was brought to the attention of the Child Welfare Committee. Acting on the information, the committee intervened and rescued the minor, shifting him to a safe place for care and protection.

During preliminary questioning, the boy reportedly remained reluctant to provide details about his identity, residential address or family members. His responses have so far failed to establish his identity or confirm the whereabouts of his relatives.

Based on the limited information provided by the boy, authorities suspect that he may be from the Teliamura area. However, no conclusive information regarding his identity, home or family has been established.

Childline officials are now counselling the boy in an effort to obtain further information that could help trace his family. At the same time, the concerned authorities are undertaking necessary measures to identify and locate his relatives.

Officials said efforts are being focused on establishing contact with the boy’s family at the earliest and ensuring his safe reunification with his relatives.
