Agartala, 20th September 2026 : Panic and concern gripped Sonamura town after thefts were reported at three separate locations yesterday night.
According to reports, unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a shop near the Sonamura Community Health Centre, an area adjacent to the Sonamura Veterinary Centre, and a paan shop near Sonamura Hospital.
Following the incidents, personnel from Sonamura Police Station and the local administration reached the reported locations and inspected the sites. Police also collected preliminary information as part of the investigation.
Youth leader Sohel Rana also visited the affected areas after receiving information about the incidents. He interacted with local residents and took stock of the situation.
The occurrence of three separate thefts in one night has raised concern among local traders and residents. Police are investigating the incidents to determine who was behind the thefts, what items were taken and how the incidents were carried out.
An investigation is underway. However, no confirmed information regarding the arrest of any person in connection with the thefts was available at the time of filing this report.
