Agartala, 21st September 2026 : Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday said Ward Secretaries have a crucial role in strengthening the grassroots administrative system and ensuring that government services reach people in a swift, transparent and effective manner.
Chowdhury made the statement while attending an appointment letter distribution ceremony for newly appointed Ward Secretaries under Jirania Nagar Panchayat.
The Minister said Ward Secretaries act as an important link between the administration and the common people at the grassroots level. Their responsibilities, he said, are essential for making the delivery of government services more accessible and people-oriented.
He congratulated all the newly appointed Ward Secretaries and extended his best wishes to them as they begin their responsibilities in public service.
Chowdhury expressed hope that their dedication, integrity, sense of responsibility and professional competence would help make grassroots public service delivery more streamlined, dynamic and effective.
He stressed the importance of committed personnel at the local level in strengthening the administrative system and addressing the needs of citizens more efficiently.
