Agartala, 25th September 2026 : A 50-year-old man died after an unstable mud wall collapsed on him while he was dismantling an abandoned house at Ajgar Tila village in Khowai on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Debnath. According to reports, Sunil and his brother had been engaged in demolishing the abandoned mud house for the past few days. On Friday morning, people present at the site reportedly warned him about the unstable upper portion of the wall.
However, while the work was underway, a large section of the mud wall suddenly collapsed, trapping Sunil underneath. He was immediately taken to Khowai District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Ajgar Tila area.
