Agartala, 30th September 2026 : An awareness programme marking World Heart Day was organised by the Ramki Foundation in collaboration with HDFC Bank Parivartan under the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) at Uttar Majlishpur under Jirania RD Block in West Tripura on Tuesday.
The programme focused on promoting heart health through healthy lifestyle practices. Participants were sensitised about the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, stress management and periodic health check-ups.
Dr Sourav Deb, physician at Tripura Medical College, attended the programme as the resource person. He spoke about the prevention of heart disease, major risk factors, healthy lifestyle habits and early warning signs. He also shared practical advice on maintaining cardiovascular health through daily habits.
Local residents actively participated in the interactive session and raised several health-related queries, which were addressed by the resource person.
A total of 87 people, including community members and project staff, participated in the programme. Participants were also urged to spread awareness about heart disease prevention among their families and neighbours.
The Ramki Foundation said similar awareness and outreach programmes focusing on preventive healthcare and community well-being would continue in the future.
