Agartala, 3rd October 2026 : Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday said the proposed ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ would serve as an important platform for bringing government services, welfare schemes and development initiatives closer to the people.
Chowdhury made the remarks while chairing a preparatory meeting at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office to review arrangements for the upcoming programme.
Representatives and officials from several departments attended the meeting, including district administration, police, Agartala Municipal Corporation, education, health, agriculture, youth and sports, urban development, panchayats, PWD, Public Health Engineering, forest and social welfare.
The meeting focused on ensuring coordination among departments and putting in place a clear action plan for the programme. Officials were directed to define responsibilities in advance and ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level.
The Minister said the success of the initiative would depend on coordinated efforts by government departments as well as active participation from the public.
He said the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ aims to create greater awareness among people about government schemes and services while ensuring that the benefits of various welfare and development programmes reach different sections of society.
Chowdhury further stressed that public service should remain focused on addressing the needs of people at the grassroots.
He expressed confidence that coordinated efforts by the administration, different departments and citizens would help make the initiative a meaningful people-oriented programme.
