Agartala, 14th October 2026 : Tripura Gramin Bank, in association with the Sepahijala district administration and the Lead District Manager, conducted the Gram Samriddhi Abhiyan at Purba Nalchar Gram Panchayat on Wednesday to improve access to banking services, promote financial awareness and extend social security benefits to eligible people.
Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal attended the programme along with Additional District Magistrate Devdas Debbarma, Nalchar RD Block BDO Suranjit Sarkar, RBI Lead District Officer Aman Podder, Lead District Manager Saikat Nag and Tripura Gramin Bank’s Regional Manager, RO South, Payel Saha.
The campaign aimed to ensure wider coverage of beneficiaries under various financial inclusion and social welfare initiatives. During the programme, the District Magistrate lauded Tripura Gramin Bank for its efforts in advancing financial inclusion. He urged the bank to maintain its momentum and ensure that the benefits of banking services and government schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries.
As part of the initiative, the bank set up dedicated stalls to provide banking-related services and assistance under different schemes. The facilities attracted a considerable number of visitors, who approached the stalls to avail themselves of banking services and obtain information about available benefits.
The programme underscored the need for coordinated efforts among financial institutions and government authorities to bridge gaps in banking access, particularly in rural communities. By facilitating account-related services, social security enrolment and institutional credit, the initiative sought to strengthen the rural financial system and support economic activities at the grassroots level.
The event concluded with a renewed emphasis on collaborative action by Tripura Gramin Bank and the district administration to expand financial inclusion and accelerate rural development under the Gram Samriddhi Abhiyan.
