Agartala, 15th October 2026 : Demanding immediate recruitment, a group of 736 candidates who qualified in the TET-2 examination but are yet to receive appointment letters submitted a deputation to the Education Department at Shiksha Bhavan on Thursday.
The candidates said that although 1,502 aspirants had qualified in the examination, which was conducted in 2025 following a notification issued in 2024, only 766 had received appointment offers. The remaining 736 candidates are still awaiting recruitment despite completing the necessary formalities, including document verification and submission of required certificates.
The aspirants questioned why candidates who cleared the same examination and completed similar verification procedures were being treated differently in the appointment process. They also cited the state’s previous practice of recruiting qualified candidates in TET examinations conducted since 2015 and urged the authorities to maintain the same approach in the present case.
One of the candidates said the prolonged uncertainty had caused considerable frustration among those awaiting appointment. Despite qualifying alongside their peers and completing the required procedures, they have been left waiting, while frequently facing questions from friends and acquaintances about why they have not yet secured jobs.
The candidates expressed hope that Chief Minister Manik Saha and Education Minister will intervene and ensure that all 1,502 qualified candidates are considered for appointment without discrimination among those who cleared the same examination.
They also expressed concern over the announcements of fresh TET examinations scheduled for December this year and January 2027. According to them, conducting further examinations without resolving the appointment issue of previously qualified candidates could deepen the uncertainty faced by the existing group.
The aspirants urged the state government to settle their recruitment issue before proceeding further with the new examination process. Pointing out that only 736 candidates remain to be accommodated, they appealed to the authorities to take an early decision and bring an end to their prolonged wait for employment.
