Headlines Tripura National’s Editor files complaint against content creator Amir Shoukeen in Tripura

Date:

Agartala, 22nd October 2026 : Editor-in-Chief of Headlines Tripura National, Pranab Sarkar, has lodged a complaint with the Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, seeking legal action against content creator Amir Shoukeen over alleged harassment, obscene conduct and derogatory remarks against Tripura.

In his complaint dated October 21, Sarkar alleged that a video circulating on social media showed a tribal youth from Tripura being publicly harassed and subjected to obscene behaviour in Delhi on October 20. He further alleged that the content creator touched the youth’s private parts in public and made mocking remarks about Tripura, hurting the dignity and sentiments of its people.

Sarkar urged the police to register a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws. He also requested that necessary legal procedures be initiated to ensure the accused’s appearance before the investigating authority in Tripura for questioning.

Calling for accountability, Sarkar said appropriate legal action was necessary to protect individual dignity and prevent the recurrence of such incidents. He also urged the police to ensure an impartial investigation into the allegations.
