AmritCem Celebrates Durga Puja’s Unsung Champions

Date:

Guwahati, October 16, 2026: More than 5,000 sacks of cement. A mountain imagined. A shared devotion given form. At a Durga Puja mandap in Dharmanagar, Tripura, an everyday building material has become part of an extraordinary expression of faith—a grand structure inspired by Mount Kailash, constructed using AmritCem OPC.

A Kailash Mountain structure in Dharmanagar, built using over 5,000 empty sacks of AmritCem cement, shows how AmritCem celebrates the hands that bring devotion to life.

Evoking the sacred abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the creation brings together the scale of an ambitious construction and the intimacy of a community’s devotion. Behind its imposing presence lie the hands that shaped it, the imagination that conceived it and the collective effort that turned a familiar religious symbol into a festive landmark.

In Dharmanagar, Tripura, a Mount Kailash-inspired structure built from around 5,000 empty AmritCem OPC bags becomes the heart of the community’s Puja, with a Dhunuchi Dance Competition, exciting prizes, Dhak performances and festive celebrations around it.

Reflecting on the shared spirit behind the initiative, Shri Pradeep Bagla, Managing Director, Amrit Cement Limited, said, “A bag of cement is an everyday material. In the hands of people united by devotion, it can help give shape to a sacred mountain. Our association with the Kailash structure comes from a shared belief: the people who build our celebrations deserve a place at the heart of them. For us, being a Champion of Progress also means recognizing the hands that preserve our traditions.”

For AmritCem, this association carries a meaning that reaches beyond the structure itself. Cement gives strength to what a community builds. The people behind its traditions give that creation a soul.

Through this association, AmritCem is inviting communities to celebrate both the creation and its creators.
