Agartala, 27th October 2026 : The Sadar Sub-Divisional Administration has taken steps to ensure the smooth and timely distribution of special festive ration supplies among eligible beneficiaries, with all 325 Fair Price Shops in the subdivision already receiving their allocated quota.

An important meeting was held with ration dealers of the Sadar subdivision under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manik Lal Das to review the distribution process and ensure that no ration cardholder is deprived of the government-provided benefits.

Speaking after the meeting, Das said the Food Department had allocated one kilogram of sugar and two kilograms of refined flour (maida) for every ration cardholder under the special festive quota. Additionally, 500 grams of semolina (suji) has been allocated to beneficiaries holding Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

He clarified that all the items under the festive quota would be distributed free of cost.

According to the SDM, the festive supplies have already reached all 325 Fair Price Shops across the Sadar subdivision. The meeting was convened to provide necessary instructions to the dealers and ensure that the allocated commodities reach beneficiaries in the prescribed quantities and within the stipulated time.

Das urged all ration dealers to maintain transparency in the distribution process and ensure that every eligible ration cardholder receives the benefits. He emphasised that the administration’s primary objective was to facilitate hassle-free distribution so that all eligible families could avail themselves of the festive quota.
