Agartala, 27th October 2026 : A CPI(M) worker was allegedly assaulted with an iron rod by a person described by the opposition party as a BJP-backed miscreant in the Gaddang area of Shantirbazar subdivision on Sunday, leaving him with a fractured leg.
The injured worker, identified as Fatik Saha, is a resident of Gaddang Gram Panchayat and works as a bicycle mechanic. According to the allegations, the incident took place at around 11 am on Sunday when Saha was working at his shop. He was allegedly attacked suddenly by Umashankar Biswas, whom local CPI(M) leaders accused of being associated with BJP-backed miscreants.
