Tripura revises SIR timeline; Final voter list now due on April 7, 2027

Date:

Agartala, 29th October 2026 : The schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tripura has been revised, with the publication of the final voter list pushed back by nearly two months, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura.

As per the revised timeline, the qualifying date will remain unchanged at January 1, 2027. Preparatory work, including training and printing, will be conducted from December 15 to 24, 2026, followed by house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from December 26, 2026, to January 25, 2027.

The rationalisation of polling stations must be completed by January 27, 2027, while the draft electoral roll will be published on February 1. Voters will be able to submit claims and objections from February 1 to March 2, 2027. The process of issuing notices and disposing of claims and objections will continue until April 1.

The final electoral roll is now scheduled for publication on April 7, 2027, instead of the earlier date of February 15.

The revision is part of the electoral roll preparation process ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle, with the revised dates outlining the stages of verification, correction and finalisation of voter records in the state.
